About Me

I was born in Scotland and was raised in NYC, and I get much inspiration from the Old World. I’m an avid fan of Renaissance artists and the Dutch Masters and occasionally will do studies incorporating techniques of those artists.

I’d started working with Encaustics nearly 15 years ago, and over the past 4 years I’ve painted with wax almost exclusively.

While my style tends toward the abstract, I do some figurative pieces and landscapes here and there. I look for the “painting within the painting” and as I’m building each piece, I try to connect those sections often using texture and or color.
